Most of you know of or have heard of the infamous Sherlock Holmes, and for a good reason. Many would call Mr. Holmes the world's finest detective; his methods of observation and detecting are phenomenal. If you were to meet him on the street, you would think he was a magician or, in this day and age, a psychic. Sherlock Holmes could look at you and give a full account of your daily schedule, what you ate for lunch, etc. Many of his accomplices, such as the Dr. John Watson, were astounded at his level of ascertainment. With his career as the world's only Consulting Detective, he has deciphered and solved some of the most challenging and perplexing mysteries in existence.

#2. Bilbo Baggins

Again, another famous figure in the world of fiction, Bilbo Baggins is in the top ten for a reason. He stars as the main character in the almost century old novel, The Hobbit. Bilbo grows up in the luscious green Shire of Middle Earth and is unacquainted with the fears and dangers of the outside world. When an old, well-known wizard comes to his door in search of help, he cautiously yields to an exciting adventure. Throughout the book, Bilbo grows in courage, confidence, and strength throughout his journey. When he returns home he has faced orcs, elves, goblins, a dragon named Smaug, and more.

#3. Harry Potter

Of course, we have Harry Potter. Harry is an orphan who is badly mistreated in his home life. He felt no love or happiness with the relatives that he lived with. You can imagine how that could have crippled and damaged his character, but he stood strong. When he received his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, a school of magic, he flourished. Harry made friends for the first time in his life, and together they defeated the world's deadliest villain; Lord Voldemort. A real "from rags to riches" story.

Lucy Pevensie is a sweet, innocent young girl whose trust seems limitless. In The Chronicles of Narnia, she is the one who finds and introduces the magical world to her doubtful siblings.
